Pro football is almost here!  I better get out the tissues because the Lions have 16 games coming up.  Of course, I'll be interested in seeing who plays quarterback and how the quarterbacks do, but I'll also be paying attention to good teams, such as these teams that I am predicting to make the playoffs.

AFC North: Pittsburgh Steelers- These defending super bowl champs are tough on defense and efficient on offense.  They play too hard to not continue succeeding.

AFC South: Indianapolis Colts- Peyton Manning shall rise to the occasion of the new coaching staff and having to go without Harrison.  This team shall continue to win games.  I don't think this division will be too good, with the Titans losing Haynesworth and having to figure out what to do with Vince Young.

AFC East: New England Patriots- Tom Brady is back and should stay back this year.  I expect a dominant offensive year and an easy trip to the playoffs.  I know the defense has been changing quite a bit these past couple years, but the youth is good.

AFC West: San Diego Chargers- Have you seen the other teams in the division?  KC's still rebuilding, Oakland's not quite ready to win, and Denver's highlight of the offseason is whiny offensive stars.  San Diego has a great offense and their defense, lead by Shawne Merriman, ain't exactly bad either.

Wildcard #1: Baltimore Ravens- This defense shall stay tough and Joe Flacco shall develop.  Don't expect them to change.

Wildcard #2: Tennesse Titans- I know I talked bad about them while predicting the Colts, but after having the best record in the AFC South last year, they still have enough good players to stay in the playoffs.

NFC North: Minnesota Vikings- Combine the best running back right now with best quarterback of all time and you get a division winner.  Even if Favre doesn't play that well, he can always give the ball to Peterson.

NFC South: Atlanta Falcons- Matt Ryan's passing options have improved with the acquisition of Tony Gonzalez.  Also, Michael Turner is emerging as one of the best.

NFC East: Philidelphia Eagles- Other than the loss of Dawkins, the Eagles look good.  Their secondary looks dangerous and the offensive weapons are plentiful.

NFC West: Arizona Cardinals- Have you seen the other teams in the division?  Seattle has lost it since releasing Alexander, San Francisco doesn't have a good quarterback, and the Rams are just awful.

Wildcard #1: New York Giants- I don't have the slightest idea who Eli Manning is gonna throw the ball to, but they should figure it out.  The running game is solid and so is the defense.

Wildcard #2: New Orleans Saints- The great numbers of Drew Brees shall finally pay off and amount to something.

AFC Champ: New England Patriots

NFC Champ: Minnesota Vikings

Superbowl Champs: Detroit Lions

Actual Superbowl Champs: New England Patriots

Team with Worst Record: St. Louis Rams and Detroit Lions

Offensive Rookie of the Year: Mark Sanchez

Defensive Rookie of the Year: Aaron Curry

Coach of the Year: Jim Schwartz (for doubling the wins from 0 to 1)

Actual Coach of the Year: Brad Childress (for working so hard to coax Favre out of retirement)

MVP: Adrian Peterson
