I read an article on a Georgetown basketball player, Roy Hibbert. It appears this guy is the real thing. He rejected the chance to go to the NBA to stay in college for his senior year, where he is majoring in government. He said he wasn't looking to make quick money, but long term contract. He also states " I don't want to just play in the NBA. I want to have a career." It seems not many understand his decision and think "what's wrong with you?" To him the big picture is far more important. It appears he's following in the tradition of fellow 4 year Hoyas such as Patrick Ewing and Alonzo Mourning. Hibbert is on his way to the Pan-Am Games in Brazil later this month. I will be pretty excited to see this guy get his chance for the NBA drafts and even more excited to see who drafts him. I'm sure he'll be a player that will demand to be reckoned with. Either way whoever gets him will not only get a fantastic player who is loyal and determined, but a smart guy as well.

I think he knows he will go higher next year. Maybe some of it is about the money.
