NFL Week 1: Mercy Please

Titans at Steelers

A better game than perhaps some people think. Jeff Fisher will have his team ready but the Steelers are not losing at home, first game of the season, in title protection mode.

Pick: Steelers

Vikings at Browns

The Vikes flex their muscles (more Peterson, less Farve) and pound the Browns.

Pick: Vikings

Broncos at Bengals

Who in the world wants to watch this game? The Bengals edge the Broncos in a snoozer.

Pick: Bengals

Dolphins at Falcons

It's almost automatic to pick the Falcons because of last year but I'm going with the fish. Miami's defense will be the difference.

Pick: Dolphins

Jaguars at Colts

This is historically a nasty division and will be no different with the extra intensity of opening week. Injuries will ensue but I'm giving Peyton the benefit of the doubt.

Pick: Colts

Lions at Saints

What a horrible way to start the season for the kitty cats. The Saints will jump all over the Lions early forcing Stafford to play catch up. The rookie throws at least two picks.

Pick: Saints

Cowboys at Buccaneers

The Bucs will punch the Boys in the mouth early. The Cowboys regain composure and win big.

Pick: Cowboys

Eagles at Panthers   (SHOCKER ALERT)

A lot of people are really up on the Eagles to get to the Super Bowl this year which is very reasonable considering the talent. However the Eagles and Mcnabb can sometimes surprise you in good and bad ways depending on your take. I'm taking the Panthers in a nail nibbler.

Pick: Panthers

Chiefs at Ravens

God help the Chiefs. Ravens lay the wood in a blood bath

Pick: Ravens

Jets at Texans

Mario Williams reminds rookie Mark Sanchez that the regular season is a little different than preseason. I think it will be close but the Texans pull it out.

Pick: Texans

Redskins at Giants

Everyone bases their picks on last year's results. (We are all guilty including me) Though I think the Giants are the better team I have a feeling the Redskin's defense will come to play. The Redskins win in a NFC East slugfest.

Pick: Redskins

49ers at Cardinals (SHOCKER ALERT)

I have no real good reasons to do this but I have a sneaky suspicion that Mike Singletary will have his young defense fired up to shut down the returning NFC champs. Niners win in the upset of the week.

Pick: 49ers

Rams at Seahawks

Hasselback is healthy and ready to roll. The Seahawks pound the lowly Rams into pieces.

Pick: Seahawks

Bears at Packers

Lambeau field, home opener, Sunday night football...The Packers! That's easy. Only a crazy person would take the Bears. I'm a little crazy and I'm taking the Bears as Cutler guns down the Pack.

Pick: Bears

Bills at Patriots

Unless Brady gets his knee injured again the Bills are toast, T.O. or not.

Pick: Patriots

Chargers at Raiders

I know about the whole AFL anniversary thing but this is a horrible reason to stay up and watch Monday Night Football. Chargers embarrass the Raiders if they can possibly be embarrassed any further.

Pick: Chargers
