                                                      Western Conference

1. Los Angeles Lakers- By far the best team in the Western Conference. Easily the best newcomer of the season Ron Artest who will give Kobe a defensive break. Artest gives a whole new type of defense and even offense. Bringing in Artest was best thing LA ever had.

2. San Antonio Spurs- Richard Jefferson a versatile big man onto the court and gives the Spurs a shot at the Western Conf. Title just like the Lakers.

                                                    3. Denver Nuggets

                                                4. Portland Trailblazers

                                                5. New Orleans Hornets

                                                   6. Dallas Mavericks

                                                       7. Utah Jazz

                                                 8. Los Angeles Clippers

                                                     Eastern Conference

1. Cleveland Cavaliers- Leon Powe is a great addition by the Cavs. New Additions-Shaq, Jamario, Anthony Parker, Leon Powe, Daniel Green Losses: Wally, Sasha, Ben Wallace, Joe Smith.

2. Boston Celtics- Addition of Sheed Wallace and Rajon Rondo establishing himself as the best player on that team. Still not good enough for the Cavaliers.

                                                     3. Orlando Magic

                                                4. Washington Wizards

                                                     5. Chicago Bulls

                                                    6. Detroit Pistons

                                                    7. Atlanta Hawks

                                                      8. Miami Heat

I for one am a bit surprised at Washington and Detroit being in this list. Is the east this soft?

hey Washington will have Gilbert Arenas and as long they have him for the whole season they should be a 4 seed

the top 3 are going to be the same. I think cleveland is built for the regular season however the Celtics are built for the playoffs. Either was the top 3 will be in any order that you have listed. However, Washingon I just do not see at teh 4th spot and detroit is a team that is ready to rebuild.
4. Atlanta
5. Heat
6. Chicago
7. Toronto
8. up for grabs between detroit, indiana, charlotte, NJ and YES, the knicks.

I only put the heat this high b/c Wade is that good. If he gets injured...they do not even make the playoffs. Wade carried this team last year to the 5th spot. The heat roster minus Wade is worse than the knicks roster.

If all systems are go, Washington will be a decent team. If the Celtics don't get Garnett back, they'll be in trouble for the regular season. If Vince Carter doesn't live up to the standard of SF that Turkey set in Orlando, we'll be iffy too.

But the Pistons made a lot of trades and got a face lift. They can potentially be a decent team like Washington if it works out; if not, we all can assume they'll be better in a few years once the ball starts rolling.

As for the West, I wouldn't be surprised, if they're all healthy, that the Spurs take the top spot.

Rajon Rondo is the best all-around player on the team he had like 2 or 3 triple-doubles in the playoffs last year.

so if you wanted a great all-around player you would take Rondo over Garnett or Pierce???

Yeah, because in one of his preseason games he had 18 points 10 assists 9 rebounds.
