Week One was as expected, awesome. Its great to be back to football season and even better, my Ravens won. As ugly as a game it was, it was a win! RAVENS FOR SUPER BOWL! The Bills and Patriots played a great, excting game that was decided by a bone-headed move to take a kickoff out of the end zone. Granted, McKlevin looked confused as to whether he could take a knee since the ball landed near the goal line, but still. At least hold onto it. Anyway, here are my Week 2 Power Rankings in the NFL. In parentheses is the ranking I had for each team last week.
1. PITTSBURGH STEELERS(1)- They played tough, defenisive game against the Titans. They didnt show me any reason nt to still be Number 1.
2. NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS(2)- The defense played terrible, and the Pats should have lost the game and would have, if it weren't for the miracle worker- Tom Brady.
3. GREEN BAY PACKERS(3)- The game was ugly, but Aaron Rodgers showed perseverance and the defense looked awesome. The o-line just needs to shape up.
4. ATLANTA FALCONS(4)- The Falcons looked great in their 19-7 win over the Miami Dolphins. Matt Ryan played a stellar game as did the much-criticized defense.
5. PHILADELPHIA EAGLES(7)- The Eagles knocked the Panthers around about as bad as the Cards did last season. But they need the D and Westbrook to step up in McNabb's absence.
6. INDIANAPOLIS COLTS(5)- The Colts pulled away with the win, but an ugly one. Who knows what could have happened had the Jags made the 2 point conversion?
7. NEW ORLEANS SAINTS(9)- The Saints absolutely destroyed the Lions on Sunday, mostly thanks to Drew Brees. But there D has to improve for a shot at the playoffs.
8. BALTIMORE RAVENS(8)- The Ravens played hard and pulled out a rare win thanks to the offense. Joe Flacco showed up, the defense did not.
9. SAN DIEGO CHARGERS(6)- They needed way to much to beat the Raiders if they want to be called a Super Bowl contender. Those teams beat the teams your supposed to beat.
10. NEW YORK GIANTS(18)- Moving up 8 spots due to a beat down of division rival Washington, maybe the G-men are for real. I have to admit, I expected worse but they looked great on Sunday.
11. DALLAS COWBOYS(13)- The Cowboys looked awfully good and less distracted with Roy Williams as the main guy. True, it was a bad Bucs team, but still was impressive.
12. SEATTLE SEAHAWKS(12)- Seattle proved they are ready to be back in the hunt for the NFC West, maybe even farther. If they play like they did week in, week out, we might even see a Super Bowl 40 rematch!?!?
13. TENNESSEE TITANS(15)- The Titans moved up on my list because Kerry Collins proved he could be more than just the game manager, but that he can make plays. If the Titans clean themselves up, they could repeat there 08 season.
14. MINNESOTA VIKINGS(20)- I'm still not sold on the Vikings, they only move up so much because of default. But if Favre plays unselfishly as he did on Sunday, which I dont think will happen, but if it does, they could be a really tough team.
15. HOUSTON TEXANS(10)- The Texans proved they aren't ready for the huge expectations myself and other people have given them this year. They were flat out terrible against the Jets.
16. BUFFALO BILLS(16)- The Bills had the Patriots beat, but simple mistakes cost them the 1-0 record. Penalties and Leodis McKlevin.
17. WASHINGTON REDSKINS(14)- The Skins showed some good signs even in a bad loss to the Giants. The offense just needs to show up, the defense did.
18. ARIZONA CARDINALS(11)- The Cardinals lost at home to the 49ers. I don't expect them to be bad this year, but this was a game they should have won.
19. SAN FRANSISCO 49ERS(22)- The Niners played great in that win... defensively. The offense has talent, but just doesn't seem to show up.
20. CHICAGO BEARS(17)- The Bears did hang in there after what could have been a blowout. They did lose Brian Urlacher and Pino Tinosomecrazyname for the season.
21. CINCINNATTI BENGALS(19)- This is a hard team to judge. They should have won, Denver was lucky. But they were also shut out for most of the game?!?!
22. NEW YORK JETS(24)- Mark Sanchez looked good, as did the Jets defense. This could be the 2009 surprise team we thought the Texans would be.
23. KANSAS CITY CHIEFS(23)- The Chiefs are 0-1, yes. But they played with Brodie Croyle as the QB and almost, very closely, beat the Baltimore Ravens. It hurts to say!
24. OAKLAND RAIDERS(27)- The Raiders played an outstanding game and forced the Chargers to make plays at the end. They couldn't pull it out though but they showed me that there right at the brisk of breaking out.
25. JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS(26)- Give this team props for holding the explosive Colts team to 14 points. But Torry Holt is no playmaker anymore and they need one other than Jones-Drew.
26. MIAMI DOLPHINS(25)- The Dolphins are an okay team, they wont be able to sneak up on anyone in 09. The schedule doesn't help, neither do turnovers.
27. DENVER BRONCOS(31)- Defense wins games, and it did for the Broncos. But so did a crazy, lucky, wild catch that happened to go Denver's way.
28. TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS(28)- Surprsingly enough, the Bucs offense was awesome against the Boys. But doing that every week doesnt sound right.
29. CAROLINA PANTHERS(21)- I picked the Panthers to be bad this year and miss the playoffs at 6-10. I still think that, except maybe 4-12 now?
30. DETROIT LIONS(29)- The Lions had a wonderful offensive day, scoring 27 points, but that doesn't win games unless you give up less. 45 isn't less, and the Lions chances of scoring 45 each week, about as much as the Brett Favre commercial on him changing his mind has at being funny.
31. CLEVELAND BROWNS(32)- Look at the Brownies, moving up a spot!!!!!
32. ST.LOUIS RAMS(31)- The Rams were shut out and were horrible. Does anyone else remember when Marc Bulger was good or is it just me??????
Thanks for reading my rankings and any comments with thought in them would be cool. Thanks and by the way, Donovan McNabb wins Bozo Play of the Week. The refs in the Bills-Pats game were thanked by Trent Edwards for making it so you couldnt look at him the wrong way or EH!, 15 YARDS! And lastly, Joe Flacco for President.
Thanks!

Cinci ahead of the Jags, Jets, Dolphins, and Broncos in the AFC???? That's one glaring error about this. The Bungholes were playing at home, and their offense, led by possibly the all-time most over-rated pro quarterback in history, looked severely weak. On the NFC side, you have the Falcons way too high, Seahawks too high......Redskins too low.
Takes real research, insight and analysis to do this well. Most of us just go with the flow and do the what-have-they-done-lately "analysis." Like the Texans---you bought into the pre-season hype about them being vastly improved. Now after one loss you're throwing in the towel. Maybe you can get a job at ESPN as an analyst.
