RIP CHRIS HENRY
|

I'm not saying that the Bengals and the Cinncinasty Defense is heading to the Superbowl, but it's gonna be hard to not believe that they aren't playoff contenders.

The offense is really starting to look good. Carson is just now rounding back into shape, the run game has found new life under Benson, Leonard, and Scott, and the recievers looks deeper than ever. Add to that the fact that agent Ocho Cinco is back and the Bengals O is really starting to look scary. As the young tightends and offensive line progress, there is no reason to think it won't just continue to get better.

And the Defense? Wow. Night and day from just a few years back. The linebackers are solid with Maualuga, Rivers, Jones, and B. Johnson. Then you have four excellent sack artists in Geathers, Odom, Tank, and Johnson. This was clear against Green Bay when they chose to double the other three and left Odom alone to gash them for sack after sack. Crocker and Williams are becoming a fearsome duo of backend enforcers and Hall and Joseph are looking like a great tandem of Corners. As soon as this D finds a solid nickelback it will be lights out.

The special teams look, well, special. Huber is my vote for rookie of the year as a punter. How many can he drop inside the 20? And Cosby is looking like quite the diamond in the roth as a punt returner. The coverage units have been good so as soon as they find a good combo on kickoff returns it will be lights out here as well.

So, as we are all starting to wonder if Pittsburg is suffering from a SuperBowl hangover this week, Cleveland is looking punchless, and Baltimore still seems to be missing something, is there any reason to doubt, at a minimum that the playoffs are within reach of this 2009 squad of the Cinncinati Bengals? I personally believe that WHO-DEY is TO-DAY! IN MARVIN I TRUST! GO BENGALS!
