The Brownies made a lot of improvements in key areas this offseason, and, for the first time since they came back in '99, we have a real O-Line. The secondary was depleted last year by injuries, Bodden, Baxter, Cutch... Wimbley was a one man pass rush, which we addressed, and the D-Line was reaching for the oxygen tanks because we had no depth, which was addressed. Frye never had time in the pocket last year, and he will last year, which means better QB play. We upgraded at RB by picking up Jamal Lewis, a much better player than Reuben Droughns, JL will also be playing for a new contract, because he only has a 1 year deal. We have a lot of weapons for Frye to throw to with KW II, Braylon, the sure hands of Joe Jurevicious, and the sleepers Travis Wilson and Josh Cribbs. Robaire Smith will start opposite Orpheus Roye, and Shaun Smith will spell Ted Washington, both are made for the 3-4. Simon Frasier will also play in passing situations, and is a great pass rusher. Antwan Peak will get time at the OLB spot, and help Wimbley with the pass rush. Leigh Bodden will be the # 1 corner, and can shut down anyone, ask Chad Johnson. Either Eric Wright, who has massive talent and potential, or Daven Holly, who proved his worth last year filling in because of injuries. Sean Jones and Brodney Pool will be the safeties, Pool doesn't have much experience, but Jones is a stud, and should've been a pro bowler last year. Romeo will also be coaching for his job this year, with Cowher and others breathing down his neck. Taking all these things into consideration, I predict an 8-8 year for my beloved Browns. Here's how I see it playing out...
