Here is my preview on this upcoming NHL award winners. There may be some shockers to you, but comment please.

Hart Trophy- Alex Ovechkin

Nominees- Getzlaf, Crosby, and Ovechkin.

Ovechkin is coming off back-to-back Hart trophies, and I'm expecting for him to have another big season. Last year he started slow, as his mind was off the game because his Grandfather was dying, but he left for a bit and once he came back he was back to the old Ovie. With him having his mind on the game from the start of the season, I can see him getting 65 goals again. Getzlaf is a raising star, and is most likely going to be the next 100 point scorer. Getzlaf is playing with great linemates in Perry and Ryan, and has with the Ducks adding depth up front, expect him to have less pressure on himself, and the Ducks to have a really good season. Sidney Crosby will have a big season, rather than Malkin, because last season teams put their number one shutdown players against Crosby for most of the season, after everyone seeing what Malkin can do, team will put their shutdown players against Malkin, this will open the ice for Crosby and expect him to lead the league in points, not Malkin. Also, Crosby finally has solid linemates that he has chemistry with.

Vezina Trophy- Martin Brodeur

Nominees- Luongo, Tim Thomas, and Brodeur.

Lets face it, with a healthy Luongo and Brodeur, this is a two man race. Thomas will have a solid season with the great defense he plays behind. But the main two guys will be Luongo and Brodeur, both trying to win the starting job for team Canada. I have Brodeur winning for one reason, Lemaire. Lemaire is back to being the coach of Devils, and with his really boring trap, Brodeur will put up great numbers, maybe even a career year. Goalies always play great when Lemaire is coach, and Brodeur will have an awesome statistical season. Luongo like always will have a great season, but I give Brodeur a slight edge. But if the Canucks have a season way better than the Devils, Luongo way take it, even if Brodeur has better stats.

Norris Trophy- Shea Weber

Nominees- Chara, Lidstrom, and Weber.

Not many people will agree with this, but I'll be right. Weber finished 8th in points among defenseman, and 2nd in goals with 23. He is still young at the age of 24, and just entering his prime. He is one of the most physical defenseman, and great at both ends of the ice. Both Chara and Lidstrom are getting older, and it is time for the younger guys to step up, and Weber is one of the best. Other guys to keep an eye on that may get nominated is Drew Doughty, and Mike Green, who needs to work on his defensive game. But this award will be Weber's, even though he doesn't get much attention in Nashville.

Calder Trophy- Jonas "Monster" Gustavsson

Nominees- Cody Hodgsons, Tavares, Gustavsson

The Monster will easily take over the starting job from Vesa Toskala in Toronto, and he is a Monster. He has looked very impressive in preseason, and in the World Championships he carried Sweden to the semi-finals, before losing to Canada. In the Swedish league, he posted a .932 SV% and a 1.96 GAA, and in the playoffs he carried his team to the Championship with a .961 SV% and a 1.03 GAA, standing on his head. Many pick Tavares to win, but he is facing a ton of pressure, and may start slow like Stamkos before picking up. Hodgsons won the CHL player of the year, beating out players like Tavares, and was great in the World Juniors. Other players to keep an eye on are Hedman, Stalberg, and Evander Kane.

Lady Byng- Martin St. Louis

Nominees- Datsyuk, Saku Koivu, and St. Louis

This is a real pointless award, Datsyuk has won it 4 times in a row I believe, but St.Louis has been a nominee many times in a row, and this is his time to shine.

Frank Selke Trophy- Pavel Datsyuk

Nominees- Zetterberg, Kesler, and Datsyuk

Datsyuk has won this several times in a row now, and is a great defensive forward. Zetterberg is also a great defensive forward, and will most likely be nominated. Kesler was a nominee last season, and he is great for the Canucks at both ends of the ice.

Jack Adams Award- Andy Murray

Nominees- Terry Murray, Ron Wilson, Andy Murray

Andy Murray took the Blues from last in the West at the All-Star break last season, to 6th in the West. Finished 2nd in Jack Adams voting last season, and with the Blues going to have a big season, I expect him to take it. Terry Murray is the coach of the Kings, and I expect him to take the young Kings team to the playoffs, or very very close. Ron Wilson will take the Leafs to a the playoffs or close too.

Rocket Richard Trophy- Alex Ovechkin

Nominees- Kovalchuck, Nash, and Ovechkin

Ovechkin has lead the league in goals the past few seasons. Ovechkin is a great scorer, and Kovalchuck is also an elite scorer. Rick Nash is also a great scorer and will have a healthy Brassard as his centre all year long. Also look for Carter, Heatley and Vanek to be among the top goal scorers in the league.

Some none awards:

Breakout player of the year (East)- Steven Stamkos

Breakout player of the year (West)- Drew Doughty

Breakout team (East) of the year- Tampa Bay

Breakout team (West) of the year- LA Kings

PIM Leader- Daniel Carcillo

Wayne Gretzky Award (Assists)- Ryan Getzlaf
