It was just another one of those games, a roller coaster ride of events that led to eventual disappointment and frustration. Of course, with a game with that sort of outcome, the blame game is always played. Can't we all just agree that we dropped the ball? Yes, the pun and harsh poke at Mark Clayton were intended.
Obviously, everyone wants to blame Mark Clayton and for good reason as well. He is the one who virtually ended the game by dropping a 4th down catch that would have put the Ravens at 1st down and goal with :28 seconds remaining as well as a timeout. The pass from Flacco was there and all Clayton had to do was catch it. However, he tried to catch it with his body and not his arms (it was also blatantly obvious that he was worried about the hit as you see him cover up and move before the ball even gets to him) and the ball deflected off his padding and found its home on the turf. So, go ahead and ignorantly blame Clayton.
