"Before deciding to take early retirement from your job, stay home a week and watch daytime television." ??? Unknown wise person
Not that it probably would have made too much difference, but if someone would have said this to Bill Snyder a few years ago, things might not be so bad in Manhattan Kansas these days. But before that...
Quick recap of New Mexico game. I'll be honest, I watched more of the LSU/Georgia game than this one. There are two big thinkgs coming out of this game. Potts was knocked out and Steven "Two Gloves" Shefflied came in ad showed that if there is one position Leach can recruit, its QB. 3 Touchdoens and 238 yards is a good outting by anyone. And Tech still can't run the ball. Its never been a strong point, but its been nice over the past few years when you can run when you need to. Being ranked 120th in the nation in running is sure to catchup with you, oh wait it did.
So looking at the Wildcats these guys are all about the defense right now. they are 22nd against the pass nationaly and 16th overall in total defense. On the offensive side of the ball, they are really just treading water. Their QB has 4 picks against 2 TDs, they have one RB who's barely averaging over 100 yard per game and while their leading reciever is averaging over 12 yard per catch, he's only got oneTD to show about it. And yes, like most schools, the schedule is a joke. So far the Wildcats have player against, Tennessee TECH, La Lafayette, U Mass, Iowa State and finally UCLA. They barely beat Iowas State and they are bad.
The Red Raiders will not have a lesiurely stroll through the park here though. With Potts more than likely out, Sheffield is going to have his first true start. Carter and his Lattimeresque face paint is back so that's good and should solidify the line. And Harrison Jeffers can look to continue to emerge in the backfield after his 4 TD performance last week.
