If you are a fan of FSU or even a fan of college football, you have got to appreciate the efforts FSU has put into their recruiting so far this year. As many of you already know, nearly the entire Offensive Staff has been remodeled with the addition of Jimbo Fisher, Rick Trickett, Lawrence Dawsey and Dexter Carter. What some of you may not know is that FSU also landed a new Football Director of Player Personnel, Bob LaCivita who comes over from that University in Gunsville Florida. LaCivita is regarded as one of the best in the land at what he does...and one of his major roles is his involvement in recruiting.
Saturday FSU held it's first ever "Seminole Showcase". A one day camp where the Nations top prospects come in and show their stuff. Also in attendance were an abundance of past FSU greats and one man in particular some of you may have heard of...Jerry Rice! Yes, Jerry Rice. During Dexter Carter's time with the 49ers he and Rice became pretty good friends, and rumor has it that Carter asked Rice to come by and help out with the Seminole Showcase, and he obliged. All recruits in attendace were lucky enough to meet some FSU greats and the man himself, Mr. Rice. Here is a great story for you to read from NoleDigest.com about Mr. Rice and his attendance, as well as some other big names in attendance and some of the top prospects that were expected to participate.
Top Linebacker prospect Arthur Brown and his little brother (2009 prospect) RB Bryce Brown were also in attendance. For those of you that do not know, FSU has already recieved a very strong verbal from the #2 LB in the land Nigel Bradham. Apparently the Brown brothers and their father really enjoyed the trip and you can read all about it here on NoleDigest.com.
I recommend any FSU fan out there to take a deep look at NoleDigest.com and see what all they have to offer. As the season gets closer and recruiting starts to pick up, you will not be disappointed at the information they can give you there. And for only $10 a month...how can you resist? What makes it even more worth the money is that fact that how early FSU is getting involved in recruiting this year, which is a rare site for FSU fans.
