Red Sox sign Bay (Signed with Mets), Papelbon (Resigned), Beckett (Exercised one year option), Green (Signed with Dodgers), Saito (Signed with Braves), Ramirez (Resigned), Wagner (Signed with Braves), Lowrie (Resigned), Martinez (Exercised one year option), Anderson (Signed with Royals), Gonzalez (Signed with Blue Jays), Woodward (Signed with Mariners), Gathright (Signed with Blue Jays), Ellsbury (Resigned), Buchholz (Resigned), Kottaras (Signed with Brewers), and Okajima (Resigned) if required.
Red Sox retire Wakefield (Resigned two years).
Red Sox release Varitek (Exercised one year option), Byrd, Baldelli (Signed with Rays), Kotchman (Traded to Mariners), Reddick (Resigned), Delcarmen (Resigned), and Brown (Resigned).
