Wow, seriuosly who saw this coming? 5 games in and out of a possible 10 points, the Leafs have managed 1. At this piont we are on a clear pace for the Taylor Hall award (he seems to be the consensous first overall pick next year). The problem with that is that after the prize is handed to us, we turn around and say here you go Boston thanx for Kessel.
Now is it a little early to be going down with the ship. Yes. Lets see if we can stay a float a while longer. I have liked all the moves the Leafs have made this year, its just we have some excess fat that needs to be cut, some leftovers from the Ferguson years. We definitely need for our off-season additions to play better, I'm tsalking to you Komisarek and Beauchemin. We need for something to happen to Toskala, either the light to come on or a trade or just cut him and recover that salary cap hit.
Tonight we have Colorado to look forwad too. The Avs have really played above themselves this season, and their off-season moves have really worked out well, unlike ours. However I still feel like the Leafs should win this one. Both teams played the day before, but the Avs are on an eastern road trip. Look for this losing streak to end, as well Joey MacDonald to get a start. Yes Vesa Toskala, this is how far your career has fallen. I can't blame Toskala for all the Leafs woes, but NHL caliber goalies would have won of these games.
What do you think the Leafs should do to make a quick change and try to right this ship? Is there someone out there that you think the Leafs should pursue either through trade or a free agent? If you have a trade give us what you think will be going in the deal, no Mike Richards for Stajan stuff.
