So the Ravens lost in the final minute-er, 20 seconds- and now the Bengals, BENGALS, are in FIRST. In the AFC, you have the Bengals and Broncos in first place in Week 5, who'd have thunk that? You have the Titans, a 13-3 team one year ago, 0-5 right now, just 5 games off the mark in the division. And the Vikings, as much as I hate to admit, look like a Super Bowl contender behind, gulp, Brett Favre.
1. INDIANAPOLIS COLTS(1)- Peyton Manning is my MVP so far. The things he's doing, like 5 straight 300 yard passing games to open a season, is unbelievable when you look at the talent scaricty around him. He's making Austin Collie (who?) look great.
2. NEW YORK GIANTS(2)- The G-men still look great, but maybe they should move down this week. I mean they beat the Raiders by how much, 37? They couldn't even manage to score 50! I mean come on!
3. MINNESOTA VIKINGS(3)- I don't know why anyone would think the Vikings would have not been great with Favre as the QB before the season! I mean seriously, if anyone thought the complete opposite, it was me! I think that was me at least, maybe not. Actually no, no, definitly not me.
4. NEW ORLEANS SAINTS(4)- The Saints can make a strong case for number 1 if they can beat the Giants this week. And I think they will.
5. DENVER BRONCOS(7)- Ok, I cant put down this team anymore, I am a believer. Once you beat the Patriots, you get my attention, because that means not only did you do that, you beat the refs too! Kyle Orton looks great though!
6. PHILADELPHIA EAGLES(8)- Jeremy MaClin was unstoppable on Sunday. True, it was against the Bucs, but he still dominated. The running game needs to find an identity though to be able to beat the good teams.
7. ATLANTA FALCONS(10)- Atlanta put a beatdown on a very good Niners team and Roddy White would have been getting tons of recognition had not been for Miles Austin. White also had 200+ recieving yards.
8. CINCINNATTI BENGALS(12)- The Bengals have become the masters of the clutch, and really look impressive. That defense is down right great, and everyone thought I was stupid for taking them in fantasy! Pash on them!!
9. BALTIMORE RAVENS(5)- The Ravens defense gave up their first 100 yard rusher in over two seasons to Cedric Bensons!? This is proof that the Ravens hurt without Rex Ryan.
10. NEW YORK JETS(9)- The addition of Braylon Edwards looked good so far, but the Jets have lost 2 in a row to good teams. But they also play 4 sub-.500 teams in their next 4 games.
11. NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS(6)- Tom Brady couldnt get enough flags in his favor to hold onto Denver, but the Patriots get a visit from the Titans this week. If they lose this game, they need to take a step back and reasess a new way to cheat.
12. GREEN BAY PACKERS(11)- Green Bay is losing ground in the North as Minnesota is 5-0 and Chicago 3-1. If Green Bay wants to lose more ground, go ahead and lose to the Lions this week.
13. CHICAGO BEARS(13)- Remember when the Bears were 0-1, Jay Cutler looked like a younger George Blanda and Brian Urlacher was lost for the season? No? Probably because their 3-1 now, Jay Cutler looks more like Jay Cutler and the defense, well, the defense is worse actually!
14. PITTSBURGH STEELERS(15)- Sorry, but in my eyes, if the Lions almost beat you and your not the Redskins, then you can't be that good. At least not yet, trust me, it hurts to say but this team will get better.
15. SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS(14)- Frank Gore should be back after the bye week this week, but the Niners need to improve defensively after the Falcons debacle.
16. SAN DIEGO CHARGERS(16)- It is only Week 6, true, but it is not a stretch at all to say that their game against Denver this week is a must win.
17. MIAMI DOLPHINS(18)- Chad Henne looked great against the Jets, and was that Ricky Williams gaining over 100 total yards? It was?
18. DALLAS COWBOYS(19)- Dallas needs to rethink seriously backing Tony Romo because it looks like he's screaming to be benched. Maybe Miles Austin can play a little QB!?
19. ARIZONA CARDINALS(23)- Arizona beat the Texans who are looking for consistency right now. Can they beat Seattle?
20. SEATTLE SEAHAWKS(26)- Seattle and Arizona play this week in a very important game and the Hawks need a healthy Matt Hasselback, or even 50%. You know what they say, a 50% Hasselback is better than a 100% Seneca Wallace.
21. HOUSTON TEXANS(17)- The Texans have all this talent in Steve Slaton, Andre Johnson, Matt Schaub, DeMeco Ryans, Mario Williams, well, thats actaully about it. They need to improve the other positions and have these guys step up.
22. JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS(20)- Jacksonville got trumped by the Seahawks, but they have hope as they face the Rams, the bye week, then Titans, then Chiefs.
23. DETROIT LIONS(25)- In a season where there is a tremendous amount of bad teams, the Lions actually might be the best of them! Thats a compliment to them, right?
24. TENNESSEE TITANS(21)- Being 0-5 and having to go to Foxboro to play New England doesn't sound all that good, but thats because its not good.
25. BUFFALO BILLS(22)- The Bills need to huddle up and find a way out of this offensive funk. I mean you scored 3 points against the Browns for crying out loud! T.O might be asking out before the second season starts!
26. CAROLINA PANTHERS(29)- Beating the Redskins is nothing to build off, unless your the Panthers.
27. KANSAS CITY CHIEFS(27)- The Chiefs looked really good at times against the Cowboys and they do have talent set up there, but they also need to learn how to block and especially how to tackle.
28. OAKLAND RAIDERS(28)- If Tom Cable would stop wasting his time harassing grown men, he would realize that JaMarcus Russell is begging to be benched, no, released.
29. CLEVELAND BROWNS(32)- Hey, it was an ugly, ugly win but Eric Mangini and Derek Anderson, it was a win!
30. WASHINGTON REDSKINS(24)- I'm sure some people think this is harsh but its not. The Redskins should be 4-1 right now, they have played the Lions, Bucs, Panthers and Rams (and Giants) and those 4 are 4 of the worst teams in the NFL.
31. TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS(31)- The Bucs have a lot in Josh Johnson but they need to come together and find an identity.
32. ST.LOUIS RAMS(30)- The Rams are averaging less than 7 points a game and have lost 15 games in a row. Any surprsie here?
So Week 5 is through and Week 6 is coming with very good games such as Baltimore @ Minnesota, Chicago @ Atlanta, Denver @ San Diego and the game of the week, New York Giants @ New Orleans. As always, Joe Flacco for President!
