Is it to early to be handing out coach of the year awards? propably. but if the season ended right now, josh mcdaniels would have to be the frontrunner for the coach of the year. unless you lived under a rock all summer, you know what happened to that team. Mrs. Cutler, after talks of trading him, demanded a trade . Then you had the Brandon Marshall Circus, and dont forgett about the Broncos horrendous defense in 08. But McDaniels has come in and turned that team around. Dont think coaching matters? The Broncos are in 1st in the AFC West at 5-0, while San Diego, who no doubt has more talent all around, is sitting at 2-2. Again of to a slow start. Dallas is 3-2. Also look at Miami, who on monday night knocked of New York, who has more talent, especialy on defense. So at this point, if the season were to end right now, Josh McDaniels would have to be the front runner for Coach of the Year, just ahead of Marvin Lewis, who is doing a great job in Cincy.
1. Josh McDaniels, Denver-great coaching has taken Broncos far beyond expectations
2. Marvin Lewis, Cincinnati- another example of how far great coaching can go.
3. Jim Schwartz, Detroit- this team is much, much better this year.
4. Rex Ryan, New York Jets- can defense keep playing at high level?
