I thought it would be a cool idea to do all 50 U.S.A. state sports. Do a brief overview of them, give a little background on them, and the like.
I'm gonna start in the home state of Maryland and then go alphabetically.
Jousting is Maryland's state sport believe it or not. This is basically fencing on horses. It was created during the renessance of Europe. This was the first official state sport in the USA. In 2005, a festival of jousting was actually featured on Sportscenter. Much debate has gone on in Maryland to change it to what is the most played sport in Maryland, lacrosse. Many even confuse the state sport, thinking it is lacrosse. Some even say it is lacrosse, because they feel it is rediculous it isn't already.
