Well this is coming a little late since the game is over a week old but I wouldn't be doing our blog justice if I didn't treat the losses with equal recognition. The bottom line with this game is that only half of the team showed up to play that Saturday night. The defense was there and there in force. They held the Gators to a season low 13 points. As a matter of fact it was the fewest points scored by Florida since UM took over as head coach. I would give the Tiger defense and "A" for their performance.
Now to the offense. "F". I've heard the word anemic used several times when describing the way the Bayou Bengals have played this year. I can agree with that summation. The Tigers simply can't get it going on offense this year for some reason. I would argue that LSU fields a better offensive team player for player than any other team in the SEC. We have Brandon LaFell, Terrance Tolliver and Rueben Randle at WR. We have Charles Scott, Keiland Willams, and Trindon Holliday in the back field. We have Richard Dickson at TE, and a very young but athletic Jordan Jefferson at QB.
So what seems to be the problem? The obvious answer would be the blocking of the offensive line and at this point in the season they are truly offensive. They can't hold a block long enough to allow a play to develop for the young QB. Their having troubles but it's not all their fault. Jordan Jefferson brings his lawn chair and umbrella accented pina colada to the back field when he drops back. Some one must have forgotten to wind his mental clock becasue he takes entirely too long to get rid of the ball. Since one thing leads to another as the 80's song says, the WR's need to get open quicker and Gary Crowton needs to provide an outlet or dump pass to a RB for JJ as a last resort.
It's a combination of things Tiger Fans. I don't think that we can actually pin it down to one thing but what we can agree on is that this offense need a tune up. If not they will sputter to a possible 8-4 season and be lucky to make the Cotton Bowl.

I agree with your post, Sir. I also submit that JJ is also what - 19? I think he is trying to do too much and it's showing behind that line. It could be worse.
I am glad the defense showed up. They'll have their hands full with Auburn, and I do not think LSU's offense will be cured in 1 week.
This isn't Crowton's or Miles fault. They know, more than we do, what they have to work with at the moment. Somebody tell me Miles wants to mirror Jim Tressel right now.
It will come together. It just looks like we'll have to grind through a 1/2 season to see it.
