I am man enough to admit when I'm wrong. I have never accepted being wrong so graciously as I am right now.
I am a fan. Sometimes my fervor for things runs higher than it should, but it comes from passion. As I watched Mike Shanahan be dismissed of his duties in Denver and the subsequent hiring of Josh McDaniel I was shocked like all Bronco fans. Then, when the trade for Matt Cassell imploded and Cutler split town, I was angry and confused.
I started taking shots at Bowlen for his lack of guidance. I couldn't believe he was giving such leway to an inexperienced young punk. I was vomitous when they brought in Kyle Orton. Was the Neck Beard really going to be taking snaps for my team? GAG.
Preseason started with a polarized Brandon Marshall. Another cog in the wheel for me. The preseason games looked like a precursor for what lay ahead as Denver looked out of sorts and Orton looked like...well....Orton.
I predicted a 6-10 season and one season stint for McDaniel. Now, I sit here with an undefeated team, a growing fondness for Orton and giving Josh attaboys. I was wrong. It's never been so sweet. Just goes to show you that sometimes when you don't relax and give a team the benefit of the doubt, the joke can be on you.
Whether Denver makes a significant run or not, I'm sold on McD. Sorry I ever doubted you, Pat.
