sounds good man! can i counter you top ten with the top ten reasons fsu will not beat their next opponent? haha, you can rename me the devil's advocate if you would like because i am the farthest thing from a homer. i talk **** when need be, but i also speak the truth when need be. nonetheless gooooooooo noles! we have stuck with them through 5 awful years and now its time to see something different! thats all i ask, im tired of seeing the same thing every year

I highly doubt we will see the same thing this year. Not to say we are going to run the table, but we will see a completely different O!

5 awful years by our standards, maybe....keep in mind that all five of those years resulted in bowl games (2 of them BCS) and that we still beat either Miami or Florida every one of them except '04. Look at most other D1 programs. We don't know what awful IS.

And 3 ACC titles.

yes by our standards and any other good program's standards. i was speaking more on our offensive production rather than our record or accomplishments. our defense always played well enough to win, but if your offense cant stay on the field you dont have much of a chance. we have had one of the worst offenses i have ever seen in college football for a few years now. so yes, i do know what awful is. you expect stanford and the university of houston to suck, but not FSU. 3 acc titles was nothing before they added va tech, miami, and bc. we should have won every year before that. we did wax va tech in 05 though! yes all five years resulted in bowl games, are you insinuating that there should ever be a chance of us missing a bowl? And I want to beat Miami when they are good. Let's see if we can bump up that streak to 3 in a row this year baby!

we will see a different 0 for sure this year! but our schedule is so brutal dont get your hopes up on even winning the acc, much less running the table. we shall see though.

9-3 or 10-2 is definitely a reasonable prediction. Our 3 toughest games in my mind are Clemson, VT and Florida.

Not insinuating anything...just saying that, for all our gnashing and wailing over our lousy offense (which HAS royally sucked), we've still come up on the better end of the stick more often than not. I'd be surprised if there are 20 programs that have made a bowl game the last five years running, as we have. We COULD be in the midst of a 5-year stretch like Mississippi State (a team that beat Florida in 2000) is in, or like Illinois (who went to a BCS bowl game in 2001) is stuck in. Talk about having the bottom drop out, and quickly. Since my frame of reference with FSU football goes back to the late 70's, I wouldn't even call this the worst five year stretch I can remember (1981-86 was pretty bad, although our offense was a lot better).

I think 9-3 would be a huge accomplishment, ChadNole....and I'd add BC and Miami to that list of toughest games.

I think we lose to VT, Florida, and two of the following (Clemson, BC, Miami, Alabama, and Wake) to finish 8-4, finish first or second in the Atlantic Division and go to probably the Peach Bowl, with a possible 10-win season on the horizon in '08. I just hope we beat Alabama (that's the biggest regional matchup we've had in many years) and shut them up.

Man I would love nothing more than to beat Bammer! Let's just beat Bammer, Miami and Florida, then we can call this a successful season!

yeah 9-3 or 10-2 is not a reasonable prediction at all, im sorry. you must not have checked our schedule. we play 7 games away from home (jax will not be considered a home game this time bc bama fans travel as good as anybody)

all of the following are losable games:

@clemson, @va tech, @florida, @BC, @wake forest, alabama, miami, maryland

u really dont think we will lose all those, im just saying. anything better than .500 will be ok with that schedule. i predict we lose to VT (too bad cuz we have beat them 12 times in a row!!!), UF, and 2 of the others (just like RBM). 8-4 is a good prediction, but we could squeeze in 9-3 or we could be as bad as 6-6 (doubt it though).

i feel what you were saying RBM, but please dont ever compare us to mississippi state or illinois again. haha, no love lost. like i stated above, i like to be real and controversial. i bleed garnett and gold, but i think it will make this group more interesting if somebody is somewhat of a devil's advocate.

anyways.....biggest issue on defense: how the hell can we get roger williams benched? wow, this guy couldnt cover me!

DC...remember that all of our losses (minus WF) were by less than 7 points. Not to mention to amount of injuries our D suffered in the front 7. We very well could have gone 9-3 or 10-2 last year. I don't think I am being a homer by saying that it is reasonable, I'm just being real with the facts.

And I am with you on Williams! Hence the reason FSU has been targeting Safety's in recruiting lately.

but look at the teams we lost to man. of course our defense will play well enough to keep us in games, but our offense couldnt get it done. in the one game we played well offensively (@ maryland, we had like 500 yards total offense), we still lost! i was at that game and it was absurd. i hope we do go 10-2 and win the acc this year. all im saying is with our schedule, we could go 4-8

If the offense is as anemic as it was last year, we WILL go 4-8. Luckily, we've reason to be optimistic that that won't be the case.
