The National Basketball Association is going through some tough times right now and the only thing holding it together is Commisioner, David Stern. This is Sterns 27th year on the job and he is still doing great . He is one of the best commisioners in sports and the NBA needs him more than anything else right now. Without Stern there the NBA would be in desperation mode to find a worthy replacement, and there isnt any. Hopefully, Stern will get the NBA past this Tim Donaghy scandal, and then, Stern will have to get out. Not because he wants to, but because he has to. The NBA did this onto themselves, whether it was referees, players that need to be disciplined, or the players being called "thugs" by most of the public. For Stern, it would be a smart decision to leave, but what would the NBA do? The truth of the matter is, without Stern, the NBA will be a failing project and would be back to where they were in late 70's early 80's when two ballplayers named Bird and Magic saved the NBA from going bankrupt. But now, who will be the next Bird or Magic? More importantly, who will be the next David Stern? Another important question is, can those 3 iconic figures be replaced?
We will wait and see, hopefully this black eye to the NBA, doesnt leave them all black and blue.

Stern is an awful commissioner. Every time he's had a tough decision in the past few years, he's made the wrong choice.
