Baseball Commissioner Bud Selig has had a change of heart. After previously stating that he would not be in attendance for Barry Bonds' record tying or record breaking home runs, Selig announced this afternoon that he was going to make every attempt to be there for the record setting moment. He says that he chose to witness the event "out of respect for the tradition of the game, the magnitude of the record, and the fact that all citizens of this country are innocent until proven guilty."

I think it's very admirable that Selig has decided to attend because of the reasons listed. I'm glad that he's not doing it for Bonds and not doing it because of all the crap he's gotten for his previous decision. That could have played a small part in it but if he's being honest about his reasons then I have nothing but respect for him. Regardless of my feelings for Bonds and his feat of breaking Aaron's record, it's still going to go down in the history books (for a few short years) and I think that's something that the Commissioner of the league should be there for.

By the way, Bonds has struck out looking twice tonight...swing the bat slugger! Him going 1-5 against my boys makes me happy :-)
