Real Madrid seems to have run into some problems in this campaign. In the Spanish Premier League they are trailing there arch rivals Barcelona. In the Champions League matches, they haven't lived up to there potential yet, and in the league cup matches so far they have been flat.

In the summer of 2009, they spent more money than any other team on the planet, in order to get Christiano Ronaldo, Kaka, and Kareem Benzema, among others that were signed. What they failed to realize, was that offense alone cannot win championships. On paper they have an offense that should net them 150 goals this year, but in reality football doesn't work like that. As a fan of manchester United i was deeply disappointed when Ronaldo left the club in June. I truly wanted to believe his words when he said he would like to stay in Manchester forever. If he wasn't the heart and soul of that club he was truly the guts of the whole operation. He fearlessly attcked defenders for 6 seasons in the red devils colours, and for that I think he has earned a place among the Manchester greats.

Ronaldo at only 24 years old, has already won every major individual award his sport has to offer. On top of that he has won the Champions league title, the English Premier League 3 times, The English League Cup, and Football Association Cup. Needless to say, Christiano Ronaldo has made a fan out of me with his accolades in Manchester. I hope that Real Madrid fans can enjoy his football as much I have. Even though I am a huge United fan, a small part of me wants to see Ronaldo do extremely well in Madrid, and live up to his billing as the best footballer the world has seen in a long time.
