Straight from seminoles.com, here are the 'Noles schedules, both conference and OOC (Out-Of-Conference) for the next three years. Dates are TBA, except where indicated otherwise:
2008
HOMEAWAYFloridaMiamiColorado - September 20NC StateClemsonGeorgia TechBoston CollegeMarylandVirginia Tech Wake Forest
Depending on what other two games we draw (probably one home and one away, with one being another BCS-conference team) this could set up as a VERY favorable schedule, with Miami and Georgia Tech as the most daunting road matchups. But then comes 2009....
2009 HOMEAWAYMiamiFloridaNC StateBYU - September 19MarylandClemsonGeorgia TechBoston CollegeTBANorth Carolina Wake Forest
Holy Schnikes, Batman! Florida, Clemson and BC all on the road, plus a dicey trip to play BYU in the high altitude at Provo? I'm betting we schedule two non-BCS teams for the open home dates.
2010 HOMEAWAYFloridaOklahoma - September 11BYU - September 18MiamiClemsonNC StateBoston CollegeVirginiaNorth CarolinaMarylandWake Forest
If these programs maintain their same general status quo, this will certainly be one of the toughest schedules in the nation, and with the exception of an early-season trip to Norman to play the Sooners it sets up surprisingly well. Barring any unexpected major setbacks, I look for a big year.

I'm glad to see the tougher opponents on there. As the title says, Anyone, Anytime, Anywhere. If we want to get back on top we are going to have to play better teams than Troy and Rice like last year.

I AM LICKING MY CHOPS FOR ANOTHER SHOT AT OKLAHOMA! AS BAD AS I WOULD LIKE ANOTHER AT UT (I GRADUATED FROM THERE), I HATE OKLAHOMA WORSE!
the 2009 schedule is a cake walk compared to this year. va tech and bama are light years ahead of byu and north carolina

Anyone, Anytime, Anywhere was Bowden's scheulding mantra in the formative years of the program. I remember a five game stretch in 1981 when the 'Noles played Nebraska, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Pitt and LSU, all Top-20 teams, ALL ON THE ROAD and won three of them. That season and the exposure gained laid the groundwork for the rise of the program in the late 80's.

And guys, you can dis Rice, Troy and Western Michigan if you want, but....all three went to bowls. And, Troy gave us a hell of a game, and we had to fight to keep Western Michigan from tying it up in the final seconds. Granted, I think the three of them going to bowls was more luck than anything else, but it still shaped up to be a much better schedule than when they first slated those games two or three years ago.
And, mark my words....Troy is where we were in the mid-'70s. They're going to be something.

oh come on RBM. The fact that we struggled against Western Michigan and Troy is absolutely pathetic. I can't believe you just wrote that. Read over what you just said again. I can't even comment further on this

People have dogged our schedule ever since we joined the ACC, but in our BCS championship run in 98-2000, we had the number 1 schedule in the country 1 of the years, and I believe a top 5 in another.

sorry RBM, but I had to check into this. First off, the bowls are now a joke, so saying a team went to some lame **** bowl that was played in mid december means absolutely nothing (our bowl was even a disgrace). Here are how some of these "tough" teams faired last year:
Troy: lost to Nebraska by 56, UAB by 18, and Arkansas St by 9
West. Mich: lost to Indiana by 19, Ohio by 7, Central Michigan by 23, and Cincinatti.
Pretty sad that either of those teams could hang with us for even a half, much less a whole game. Please do not compare FSU to Troy again, lol

......and we also lost to Wake Forest by 30, which in years past would've been as disgraceful as the losses you listed that Troy and WMU suffered. Take a valium, DC......I'm not comparing us to Troy, or to Western Michigan, or to Rice. But.....fact of the matter is, this STILL turned out to be a better OOC than at least half of the BCS Conference Schools. See if you can find me another BCS conference schools that played four OOC teams that all went to bowls. And, regardless of how great we were for a fourteen-year stretch, the brutal fact is that WE STRUGGLED in two of these supposed "gimme" games. Not comparing us to them at all, as you suggested, just saying that before we start bemoaning the lack of quality teams on our schedule we need to be handling the lesser teams with ease, which we certainly did not.

As ChadNole said, " If we want to get back on top we are going to have to play better teams than Troy and Rice like last year.". Guys, PLAYING better teams isn't enough. We have to start BEATING better teams, and beating the hell out of Troy, Rice, and WMU rather than just surviving. Until we do that, we really aren't in a position to run our mouths. Sad but true.

and thats exactly why you never see me running my mouth, unless we are talking about the 90's. you are switching up your stance a little bit. in the other post you were saying we have been fairly succesful in the last 6 years. there is no need to argue though. i dont need a valium, im super chilled, lol. i just want to point out that we have never played a 3 team non conference schedule that bad, and i dont give a damn if they went to bowls or not, it was as terrible as it looked on paper. im only complaining because my brother has season tickets and there were 4 home games that werent even worth going to. wake forest won the acc last year.....that one did hurt, but nothing like arkansas state or indiana, come on man.
for real though, above you said troy, rice and west. michigan deserved credit for going to bowls and 2 of them gave us a hell of a game. now you are saying that we should be beating the hell out of them and handling them. this is very true, but the reason we struggled against them is because we sucked, not because they were good teams

We SHOULD be beating the hell out of them and they deserve credit for going to bowls. What is ambiguous about that? My stance has not swtiched a bit -- merely your interpretation of it. All I'm saying is that regardless of how crummy a schedule we think it was, A) it could've been worse if they all went 2-10, and B), we are in NO position to dog them, considering that our OOC turned out to be about all we could handle. Sad, but true.
And yeah, all things considered, we HAVE been fairly successful the last 6 years by general standards. Bowl money in the coffers every year, on the plus-side of .500 every year, 3 conference championships, etc. That doesn't mean we didn't suck -- just that, as I said, it could always be worse. Trust me. I've SEEN worse, This isn't were we want to be by any means, but guys, this is not rock-bottom.

it is rock bottom for my standards. sure they were worse back in the day, but that was before they were good. i totally agree the non-conference schedule was all we could handle, lol. im just saying it was pathetic nonetheless. and it doesnt matter if your opponent goes 2-10 or 10-2, if they dont play anybody. all the teams had lame schedules and trust me, if u think going to a "bowl" means what it meant 20 (or even 10) years ago (i dont think u do, im just saying), then that is absurd. the bowls are a joke these days. schools "LOSE" money traveling to the **** bowls that dont pay anything (i would like to see the numbers on the emerald bowl)......normally that bowl wouldnt make anything, but with ucla vs. fsu it may have. bet we didnt collect much though. i wasnt dogging those teams, i was doggin our scheduling them. u have watched fsu for longer than ive been alive, can u remember a worse schedule? anyways, if we had been any good last year our schedule really favored us! and the real issue is our offense and the tough **** schedule we have this year! i didnt mean to get into a crazy debate about last year's schedule! haha
