2007 Outlook:

 Offense:

Tom O’Brien left for the position vacated by Chuck "The Chest" Amato at NC State.  Enter Jeff Jagodzinski, who returns after holding the Offensive Coordinator position at Boston College in 1997 and 1998.  Coach Jag will have quite the task of improving the BC running game while QB Matt Ryan continues to do his thing.  Ryan lead the ACC with 245 passing yards a game in 2006!  Assuming BC can replace Offensive Lineman (and NFL Draft picks) James Marten (LT) and Josh Beekman (RG), look for Ryan to continue that trend especially if the running game doesn’t improve.

Defense:

The Defense has pretty much remained in tact.  Their biggest loss is Safety Ryan Glasper.  BC played well against the run last year and should remain on track there.  Their passing defense ranked 9th in the ACC last year and will need some improvement to keep their hopes alive at winning the Atlantic Division and playing in the ACC Championship Game.

Schedule:

Starting off with defending ACC Champions Wake Forest will be tough but the game is at Chestnut Hill.  Follow that up with old Head Coach Tom O’Brien’s new team and a Georgia Tech team that many believe will contend for the Costal title again, and in the first three games of the season it has quickly becomes a do or die situation.  The good news is that BC has 7 games at home this year!  The bad news…they have to travel to Atlanta, South Bend, Blacksburg, College Park and Clemson!  Not an easy road schedule!  As if the start of the season wasn’t bad enough, the end of the schedule isn’t going to be any easier.  Traveling to Vriginia Tech, Maryland and Clemson with two home games mixed in that are up against tough ACC opponents in FSU and Miami.  Go ahead and throw in that trip to South Bend in the middle of the schedule there too.

In a Nutshell:

BC must come out of the gates firing on all cylinders!  If they can keep the defense and passing game going while improving their running game, I see no reasons as to why they cannot contend for the ACC Atlantic.

That's a nice long lengthy, good analysis. Will you be doing one for each ACC team?

BC has one of their most talented teams ever this season. And I think they are by far the most underated team in the ACC. They would be my dark horse to win it (i would say like wake forest last year, but that was the darkest horse ive ever seen!).
