Seeing as how Michael Vick had an appearance in court the day before, I was expecting there to be a bit of a media circus.  To my pleasant surprise there was minimal media presence limited to just a couple of local radio stations and a local TV crew.  No protestors either, just a couple of schmucks holding "I wanna be like Mike" signs and generally acting like fools in order to get on TV.

Gates opened at 6pm and there where about 100 or so fans waiting in line with me. We were let in and I parked myself right at the front.  The first thing I noticed was the intensity of the offensive drills.  The new coaching staff def. seemed to want to keep the pace moving quickly.

One player definitely stuck out among the rest.  When Joe Horn signed with the Falcons there was much lip service about him bringing a veteran presence to the young receiving corp.  He was by far the most intense of all the receivers, yelling the loudest during drills and pretty much setting the example for the others with his intensity.  Certainly a welcome addition to the team.

After a while the crowd built up and there were even a couple of moments where the crowd got pumped up thanks to some dude who was yelling he head off pretty much the whole time.  He was giving the players lots of encouraging words then turned to the crowd and yelled "COME ON, LET'S GIVE IT UP FOR THESE GUYS!!! COME ON!!"  The crowd awoke with an ovation that the team def. noticed.

Obviously it is too soon to gauge how sharp everyone was but Joey Harrington looked like the part of the starting QB.  His throws were crisp and accurate and there were not too many dropped passes during the 7 on 7's.  Of the backups, I thought Chris Redmond looked a bit sharper than DJ Shockley (don't hate me UGA fans).  There was a fourth QB there (Lang Campbell) that I got the feeling was just a body at camp.  Not incredibly impressive.
