  • Won triple crowns in 1922 and 1925.

  • Hornsby holds the modern record for highest batting average in a season, .424 in 1924.

  • First player ever to hit 60 home runs in a season
  • Originally held the single season and all time HR records with 60 and 714 HR's
  • In his 22 year career he hit .342 with 714 HR's and 2,217 RBI's.
  • Inaugural Hall of Famer
  • CF Willie Mays, San Francisco Giants

  • 3rd: career total bases (6,066)
  • 4th: career HR's (660)
  • 1st player with 500 home runs and 3,000 hits

  • Known for his basket catch ("The Catch") against the Cleveland Indians and Vic Wertz to save a run.
