Tim Couch just signed a two year deal with the Jags worth basically the vets minimum
Question: What the hell were they thinking?
The Jags can't possibly be that desperate for a QB that they needed to sign a burnout like Couch. The man hasn't played a down of football in three years--that's right, three years 64 games 62 starts 64 TDS 67 INTS. I know what everyone's going to say that the reason that he didn't fare well in Cleveland was due to the fact that no one can win there regardless of who's coaching and I say tell that to Brady Quinn.
The problem with Couch is not that he's an awful quarterback he's in fact average at best and his stats although not good could be better, but I think the window for him to come back has passed because lets face facts here: The QB draft class of '99 was the most overhyped underachieving class in history the class was full of mostly duds with McNabb (Philadelphia) being the only QB in that class still with the team that drafted him.
The fact is this: No matter how hard Couch tries he'll never have the same success he had in college and this is frankly a bonehead move especially when they could have had a chance to keep the chemistry the way it is.
