I tuned into the NFL Network tonight to catch the Cowboys training camp show.  To my surprise "In Their Own Words: Bill Walsh" was airing.  I immediately felt sick to my stomach.  Bill Walsh has lost his battle with leukemia and passed away at home today.

To call him a legend isn't enough. I don't think that anyone can really explain what Walsh has meant to the offensive side of the game.  West coast offense?  That was his invention.  Not only have armies of assistants that served under him went on to not become successfull head coaches but THOSE head coaches have spawned several head coaches.

What a sad day it is for NFL fans.  RIP coach.
