I recently read a throwdown between PackersLP21 and Roger Goodell, and was really troubled by what I saw. The throwdown was about whether the Packers will be better than the Lions and the Vikings this year. My own personal view is, obviously, on the Packers side, but that isnt important. PackersLP21 made the slightly unsportsmanlike decision to email people who he knew to be Packers fans and ask them to vote. However, PackersLP21s argument wasnt bad to begin with, and Goodells badgering and mocking of him was unprofessional and childish. I think that is actions like Goodells, and perhaps to a lesser extent PackersLP21s, are two of the huge problems with Fannation and Throwdowns in particular. If you think that you have the better argument but are still losing, you are probably fighting a battle with the weaker side, and questioning your opponents intelligence is not the way to go. For instance, I´ve lost three throwdowns so far because I took the weaker side; Packers beating the Bears this year, Atlanta Hawks making the playoffs, and 98 Spurs over 92 Bulls. I had the more researched argument, but in the end, people are just as likely to vote for the side they think is right than the side with the stronger argument. At the end of the day, people are going to vote for whoever they feel like, for good reasons or bad, and calling out your opponent on the message board, and, to a lesser extent, making someone out to be a criminal and a cheater even though his only crime was alerting tons of fannation members to an interesting throwdown. Thank you Roger Goodell, for showing all of us which model we should do our uttermost not to replicate.

If you have any comments, do not hesitate to tell them to me.

Very well written blog, and I agree whole heartedly. It's a shame that what could be a great forum, entertaining several points of view, is sometimes reduced who has the bigger friend base.

If any of you are frustrated that your cable company isn't offering you NFL Network, it looks like some legislators are joining the cause -
