As I went to the Falcon's training facility last week, the protestors outside seemed to annoy the true fans of the Falcons. The protestors seem to have one thing in common: they care only for Vick, not the Falcons. This is one truly despicable quality in a sports fan. Loyalty to a single player can only go so far.
Vick has always been looked at as a superstar, but he has never done anything to deserve that title. He has led his team to the playoffs only twice in his six year career.
Although the acts that Vick is accused of and probably guilty of should have never happened, it could mean good news for Joey Harrington. He has always been looked at as a failure. But when you look at his career so far, it has been plagued by bad offenses and bad teams in general. He has showed NFL calibar talent at certain points, and he has always played with pressure under him.
This season he will be playing with no one competent behind him and no pressure causing him to become nervous. Maybe this year will be special for him and the Falcons now that they can play in a more relaxed way without all of the tension.
