Call me crazy, but he just might.  You all remember (or at least should) his bold predictions that the Lions will win 10 games maybe more.  Well he can do it, and I will take it a step farther, saying that the Lions will win 10 games AND Kitna will throw for 50 touchdowns.  It is possible, so hear me out.  I'll start with the 10 wins.  Here is the Lions schedule, grading each game on the possibility of winning:

Week 1 - @ Raiders (W, 1-0)

Week 2 - Vikings (W, 2-0)

Week 3 - @ Eagles (L, 2-1)

Week 4 - Chicago (L, 2-2)

Week 5 - @ Washington (W, 3-2)

Week 6 - Bye (3-2)

Week 7 - Tampa Bay (W, 4-2)

Week 8 - @ Chicago (L, 4-3)

Week 9 - Denver (L, 4-4)

Week 10 - @ Arizona (W, 5-4)

Week 11 - NY Giants (W, 6-4)

Week 12 - Green Bay (W, 7-4)

Week 13 - @ Minnesota (W, 8-4)

Week 14 - Dallas (L, 8-5)

Week 15 - @ San Diego (L, 8-6)

Week 16 - Kansas City (W, 9-6)

Week 17 - @ Green Bay (W, 10-6)

Final record - 10-6.

See, it can be done.  It will be hard, but the Lions can quite possibly win 10 games, and if you throw in some upsets, even more.  Kitna was not too far off in his prediction.

It is also quite possible that Kitna will throw for 50 TD passes.  With the addition of Calvin Johnson, Kitna was a very impressive wide receiving corps with Johnson, Roy Williams, and Mike Furrey.  Between the three of them, Kitna could get AT LEAST 30 TDs, probably more.  Kitna also has Kevin Jones, who could develop into a Marshall Faulk-type player,  coming out of the backfield and catching passes.  In just 12 games last year, he had 61 receptions for 520 yards and two touchdowns.  I would expect the number of touchdown passes to improve, maybe to ten, at least seven.  Tatum Bell, who was not used as a receiver in Denver that often can definitely develop into a passing threat, maybe gathering five touchdown passes.  Also, in limited action last season, Shawn Bryson had very good numbers, so expect a few touchdown catches from him.  You may not think it possible, but it IS possible.

Detroit Lions - 10-6.

Jon Kitna - 50 TD passes.

Mark it.
