Losing is bad as it is. Like salt to a wound, an ironic loss just makes it hurt worse.
With 7 minutes left in the 4th quarter, the Ravens were up 15-14 with the Colts driving down field. Here comes our first ironic moment - the Colts call on Matt Stover to kick a 25 yard field goal to take the lead in the middle of the 4th quarter. Matt Stover, the Baltimore Ravens' dependable kicker for 13 years, put the last three points on the board to beat his old team. Stover used to do the same thing in purple in the fourth quarter and in overtime. You kind of had that feeling it was going to happen before the game started. Even on the pre-game show, they mentioned asking Stover about having to kick the game winner against his old team.
