Roy allowed 1 un-earned run in his last start, Saturday, July 28. Since then, Astros pitchers have allowed 53 runs. That's just 9 less than Roy's allowed (earned) all year. In his last 3 starts, Roy has allowed 3 runs, 2 earned, and has gone 3-0.

After allowing just one solo homerun through 6 innings versus D-Train and the Marlins, it looked like Roy was in for another tough defeat. Luckily, the very much fatigued Astros (well, Bruntlett at least) were able to knock in a few runs just in time to secure Roy's win.

By my count, if Roy pitches every 5 days (game days & off-days) until the end of the season, he will get 11 more starts this season, unless Phil wants him to pitch the final game on REALLY short rest, which would give him 12. That's 11 or 12 more starts to get 9 wins and get his 3rd career 20-win season. It may not seem feasible with the crazy lack of run support he gets, but I'd love to see them try. I think we're all agreed this season is pretty much over for the 'Stros in terms of the pennant race, so I say they should save all their energy for Roy's games...let him at least get that milestone...
