These are my 10 players that I expect to bust from this draft. I thought that the 2007 NFL Draft was a rather weak draft and I think that more than 10 players will probably bust.
1. JaMarcus Russell-Russell is a quarterback who has a ton of physical ability and upside, but he also has little understanding of the mental aspects of the game. He's a player who needs to get good coaching to become a good player, but what's the chance that Lane Kiffin can coach? Slim to none. College head coaches never succeed in the NFL and Kiffin was a COLLEGE ASSISTANT to a guy who failed twice in the NFL(Pete Carroll). It's not like Russell has a great teammates or a great offensive coordinator(Greg Knapp) to learn from either.
2. Gaines Adams-Talk about a bad pick, you never take a one-dimensional pass rusher with a top 5 pick. I did a little research on the past 10 drafts(1994-2004) that can be evaluated and I found out that about half of the defensive ends(3-4 outside linebackers not inclued) drafted in the top 10 end up being busts. Most of these players are your one-dimensional pass rushers that don't stand up well in the run game. The players who can rush the passer and stop the run among those defensive ends are able to stay in the league much longer. Gaines Adams sucks against the run and he'll probably end up being one of the busts.
3. Jamal Anderson-See Gaines Adams.
4. Ted Ginn, Jr.-This is a classic boom or bust pick, I'll take the bust on this one. He's got speed and he's got decent hands, but that's it. He can't run routes, he can't read defenses and make adjustments to his routes, and he struggles to get off of the press. Everyone says that his speed will make him into a great receiver, but last time I checked, speed doesn't make great receivers. You've still got to have great hands(Ginn has okay hands), you've got to run routes, you've got to be able to read defenses and make adjustements in your routes, and you've got to get off the press. Ted Ginn can't do those things.
5. Adam Carriker-For some reason, he has the aura of a bust. To me, he's a pure 3-4 defensive end that is a bad fit for any 4-3 team. I know that the Rams are turning him into a defensive tackle, but I don't know if he has the ability to play in a 4-3. I don't think that he has the ability to play in a pure 4-3. If the Rams needed a defensive tackle, they should've taken Alan Branch.
6. Justin Harrell-This was a bad pick on so many different levels and was, by far, the worst pick of the draft. Harrell has bust written all over him. He was a high second round pick at best and he probably would've been there the next time the Packers picked. Not to mention that he's hurt a lot. He'll probably bust.
7. Leon Hall-I know that a lot of people think he'll be the best cornerback from this draft, that's crazy. He played two good receivers in his senior year(Dwayne Jarrett and Ted Ginn, sorry Jeff Samardzija) and got lit like a candle. Leon Hall was the weak point of that Michigan defense last year. That Michigan front 7 was dominating their opponents while Leon Hall got burnt to a crisp.
8. Dwayne Bowe-He is put in a terrible position where he just can't succeed and I think that it will diminish his confidence and ruin his career. He's got a bad head coach, an inexperience quarterback, an offensive line that is being decimated by many people retiring, and is entering an offense in which its playmakers are getting old(Tony Gonzalez) or they're holding out and have a lot of wear and tear on thier body(Larry Johnson). I think he'll be a bust because of his situation and not because of him.
9. Robert Meachem-He's got questions with his lack of work ethic and him being overweight. That doesn't bode well in the NFL. I don't care who you are, in the NFL you have to work hard week in week out. It doesn't matter how much talent you've got, if you have no work ethic, you will be a bust. I just don't feel that Meachem has much of a work ethic.
10. Craig Davis-Craig Davis will be a bust. This is another pick that was a major reach and those picks usually don't make out too well in the NFL. Craig Davis wasn't even the 2nd best receiver on his team, he was the 3rd best receiver behind Early Doucet and Dwayne Bowe. Davis has bust written all over him.

i agree with all except Leon Hall he was the best CB and he only got burned a few times and Leon Hall isnt the best man to man CB he plays a great coverage CB no doubt the best coverage CB in the draft and most teams look at if a CB can cover there side of the field as well as man to man.

aight check this I deff agree with most of it except for 4 of them...Jaamal Anderson is bigger and faster than Gaines...he has better instincts than Gaines and came from a far tougher conference than Gaines, for Anderson to break 10 sacks in the SEC is a amazing accomplishment....so I take him off and put Calvin Johnson down...he couldn't produce against the big boys....had a tendancy to get shut down by corners smaller than him..and these corners in the NFL do not only have far more expeirence than Calvin, but are much faster, stronger and smarter...Dwayne Bowe will be a huge help to KC's passing games..Leon Hall has all the makings of a great corner...plus he'll thrive playing in the AFC...Robert Meacham will be an amazing establishment to NO's already good reciever corps...once he gets healthy...he'll post big numbers...but other than that i agree

Hall was the best CB last year, and was highly regarded at UOFM, so much that man considered his talents to be better than charles woodson.

Chris Houston was a much better player than Hall was last year. He played good receivers week in week out and did a great job against them. Take Dwayne Jarrett as an example, Chris Houston made Jarrett a non factor when he played him. Leon Hall was abused by Jarrett in every possible way.

Most all Steeler fans think Lawrence Timmons will be a bust because he is already injured and not even as good as the guy the Steelers got in the second round from Michigan, Lamaar Woodley.

Cassidy, I will guarantee that Lawrence Timmons will have a better career than LaMarr Woodley if Lawrence Timmons can stay healthy. I was very surprised that Woodley was available as late as he was, but Timmons is a freak of nature and he's an amazing athlete. In a couple of years, Timmons will be one of the best linebackers in the league. He's very raw, but if a great defensive coordinator/defensive head coach like a Dick LeBeau, Bill Belichick, Rex Ryan, etc. gets a hold of Timmons; Timmons then becomes one of the best linebackers in the league with a year or two of good coaching.

It's tough to coach him if he can't even get on the field, Bah. I hate to use the term p.u.ssy, but........
I can't think of any other way to put it.

Mark my words Steelercooz, Timmons will be one of the best linebackers in the league, just give him a year or two. He may not have a great rookie year, but in a couple of years, watch out. Timmons has so much talent that you can find a place for him. In a couple of years, if he learns to shed blocks a little better, he could be an extremely versatile player. He's already one of the best pass-rushing and coverage linebackers in the draft. If he learns to shed blocks a little better, he could probably play ILB in a 3-4. He can also rush the passer from a 3 point stance. From what I've heard, he can add on about 10-15 pounds to his body. That means that he could become an Adalius Thomas(except not quite the freak, but close enough). He can line up at safety occasionally, he could play ILB, he could play OLB, he could even take some snaps at DE. Timmons will be a player who you can find a place for on every single down like an Adalius Thomas and Dick LeBeau will take advanage of his versatility.

Injuries play into being a bust. I think Carriker will do well cause he has a great motor and works hard. These guys usually do well at DT or DE. Good call on Craig Davis. If you can't be the #1 in college what are your chances in the NFL? Not very good. I think Hall will do pretty well, but it may take a few years before he makes a great impact. Getting burned is part of being a CB. It happens to even the best. Just ask Champ.

When you get drafted as low as #22 when you were highly touted coming out of college of Notre Dame, there is no way you can bust, but you sure can prove a lot of people and teams wrong. However, since he is playing for the Clowns, he has no chance to do anything unless he gets traded.

I think that Brady Quinn will be a good quarterback in this league. I don't think he'll throw for 4000 yards and make the Pro Bowl every year, but I do think he will be the 9th or 10th best quarterback in the league and lead his team to the playoffs every year. I think that Brady Quinn will have a very good career behind a much improved offensive line and the weapons that he has at his disposal. All Cleveland needs now is a stud runningback and their offense will be set.
