Defenceman Luc Bourdon has been traded from Moncton to Cape Breton in the QMJHL according to TSN. This is a very good thing for Vancouver Canuck fans as it means Bourdon will continue to play important games after starring with Canada's World Junior gold medal team. As is typical in the world of junior hockey, teams are building up for the playoffs, and the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles are a definite contender for the QMJHL crown and a spot in the Memorial Cup. Bourdon, who made the Canucks out of training camp but appeared in only nine games before being sent back to the Q, had 3 goals and 11 assists in 13 games with Moncton and will go to a team that already leads the league in goals scored. This deal makes the Canucks look like prophets in sending Bourdon back as he has played in the best junior tournament in the world and is now playing for a team that could play for the Canadian Hockey League's most precious prize. Keep an eye out fans of Western Conference teams, Luc Bourdon will be a name you will learn to hate.
