Well it's that time of year again when we find out what teams are really made of. The Tigers have lost 7 of 8, and it's time to see how they will respond. It was no surprise to me when they lost the first game of their homestand, which is a disturbing trend this season. But the way they lost it was what got to me. If it wasn't for the grandslam Uribe hits, the Tigers most likely stop their losing skid. But that one bad pitch by Andrew Miller cost them the game. Unfortunately, this is what good teams are measured by. It doesn't matter if most of the game goes in your favor, you have to buckle down and get the job done when it matters most. And the Tigers just haven't been doing that lately. A perfect example came in Oakland, when the Tigers had the bases loaded in the top of the eighth with one out, down 3-2. Final score? 3-2. The Tigers just have not come through in the clutch as of late. We'll see tonight if they can rebound against the White Sox. It's Bonderman vs. Vazquez, and I think we'll see tonight who the real Detroit Tigers are. The next few games could set the tone for the rest of the season and the playoffs, if they don't continue to slide down in the standings. A half-game back on August 4th, we'll see what happens until Sept. 30.
