The Philadelphia Phillies lost a heartbreaker last night. The final score was 6-5 in favor of the Milwaukee Brewers and all of Philly took the loss hard. Cole Hamels only let up four runs in sevin innings and left with the Phils having a one-run lead. Then, Bottom of the 8th, Prince Fielder hits a bomb off of Tom Gordon that sent Miller Park into a frenzy of cheers. Gordon got the loss while Cordero of Milwaukee recieved the win.

The bullpen has killed the Phillies all year. Their starting pitchers throw 7 terrific innings then either Gordon, Alfonseca, Brett Myers or another "Bullpen Blower" will come in and lose it. The Phillies have young pitchers that aren't really known in Kyle Kendrick and J.D. Durbin. The young 23 year-old Cole Hamels is the ace of the group. Hamels has a nasty change-up that absolutely takes hitters to school. They 120 year-old Jamie Moyer still gets the Phillies wins with all his slop he can throw. Jon Lieber is on the DL with most of the team, but thats for later. Brett Myers, who was a starter, was moved to the bullpen. Then, an injury came to him, and hopefully after his rehab he will be back in the rotation.

Injuries is what is plauging the Phils now. With Victorino, Utley, Bourne, Myers, Lieber, Freddy Garcia, the list seriously never stops. Along with that and all the Bullpen woes, the Phillies may actually be lucky that they are in 3rd place and only 5 games back.

The Phils end their series with the Brewers tonight with Adam Eaton on the mound. Tomorrow they're off for their Tuesday series opener with the Florida Marlins.

Phillies rock but their bullpen is atrocious. Everyone in it sucks, this year sadly Ryan Madson has been their best bullpen pitcher and that is pathetic.

I am a die hard phillies and philly fan.

Phillies cant win a division or get a wildcard without a dependable bullpen, because that flaw can cancel out great numbers from their offense.
