As you may have heard, Brady Quinn has agreed to a five-year contract with the Cleveland Browns. So, as he'll be reporting to training camp shortly, what does his future with the Browns look like?

So far, not so good. He's started off on the wrong foot with coach Romeo Crennel because of his 11-day holdout. The holdout virtually erased his chances of becoming the team's starter at the beginning of the season. Now, it's a two man race between Charlie Frye and Derek Anderson. Quinn has plenty of catching up to do in learning the Browns' offense. Also, the Browns have just 2 practices before their first preseason game on Saturday against the Chiefs, which doesn't give Quinn a very good chance of playing on Saturday. If you don't see Quinn behind center at the start of the season, don't be surprised if he starts maybe halfway into the season. Don't expect him to have a Rookie of the Year-worthy season, but he should be solid. Brady Quinn is now offically a Brown, everybody. Browns fans, keep on your toes. That's all the news for now in Erwin's NFL Blog Series.

Brady Quinn will have about as much success in Clownland as Jeff Garcia did, and by the way, Garcia is a way better QB than BBQ meat will ever be.

I disagree Cassidy, seeing as you obviously hate the Browns, you are just saying that. He will not be a mighty force to be reckoned with, but he will make a solid impact and improve the Cleveland record. Good blog erwin.

Wow! Take it easy. I guess we will all see in time.

I'd say that by the midseason mark..., when the Browns are fighting for last place..., Quinn will be the man and Crennel won't worry so much about the holdout. He will be a decent qb...., in time of course.

It must be annoying for Brady Quinn to know he has BUST written all over him -- in permanent sharpie right across this forehead, alarmingly resistant to showering and other means of removal.

The question is whether his inherent inability to pull out big games is going to hurt the Browns -- who wodl have to be in some big, meaningful games for that to happen. It'll be a year or two, regardless of the QB situations, before Cleveland would be fighting for a playoff spot. And that is more likely to ride on the O-Line and the defense than on Quinn.
