This blog is about foreign players who could one day make their way to America's soccer league, the MLS.  I will make a top 5 list of the players that would help the league the most. So here is my list:

5.  Oliver Kahn- he is aging and could be out of work in a season or two.  So if he needs a new challenge, MLS would be perfect for him.  He could help firm up the goalkeeping postion of almost any team.  His great leadership would help his team and the fact that a lot of real fans like him is great.  Fans that truly appreciate him would fill the seats just to see one of the best goalkeepers in the history of the game.

4.  Pavel Nedved- the classy Czech would be a great asset for the league.  He exhibits great speed, awareness, and as I already said, he is a classy individual.  He would be able to draw in many fans from the old Soviet Union area.  He would be a great fit in NYC, because of the difference in culture.  This signing would also bring in the big fan that doesn't like the MLS.

3.  Luis Figo- this man shows true class and he is one of the world's top footballers even at his age.  He captained Portugal at the 2006 World Cup, and lead his team to the Semi-Finals of the tourney.  He would really bring in the fans because he is a true star of the World's Sport. This signing would brign almost as much publicity as Beckham's.

2.  Ronaldo- the quick-footed Brazilian would bring so much attention that it wouldn't be funny.  The man with the golden smile would attract many new fans because of his sneaky speed and his nice dribbling that consists of many stepovers.  He is one of the world's best strikers and has even been named FIFA Footballer of the Year.  In just 5 games for AC Milan, he scored seven goals.  He become the world's best striker and that would be great for Major League Soccer.

1.  Zinedine Zidane- as much as I hate to say this, Zidane is the world's most famous player.  All that attention that he received from the WC would easily transfer over and the media would eat it up.  They would ask questions like "How do you feel about coming back after that headbutt" and others.  He would mean a lot, because he is one of the top 5 footballers of all time.  He is that good, and the league would benefit from his un-retirement.
