02:48 PM ET  01.22 | The Cleveland Indians and MLB.com are holding a Fantasy Baseball Summit on Feb. 6 at the Terrace Club restaurant at Jacobs Field.

Indians GM Mark Shapiro and other executives will take questions from participants and MLB.com's Fantasy 411 hosts Cory Schwartz and Mike Siano will broadcast the show during the event.

While fantasy prep events such as the one outlined are certainly not unique, I found this upcoming fantasy summit at Jacobs Field in Cleveland a bit intriguing.

To my knowledge no other MLB team has announced a similar event this year. How do the Indians benefit from an event like this? Obviously they must feel their fans are interested in fantasy baseball but does that help or hurt their passion as an Indians fan?

It is possible the organization could be trying to attract fans from other teams (or with no affiliation) to its facility. 

I have heard of a few NFL teams hosting a ‘draft day' at their facility in the past. But in most cases the focus is a bit different and expert guidance isn't necessarily part of the package, especially from executives within the organization. 

I'm curious to hear your thoughts on this. Has anyone out there ever attended an event similar to the Indians? If not, would you consider attending if this was in your city? Or hosted by your favorite team?

I love the concept. From a fantasy participants' perspective providing a unique draft location is attractive. I'm just not sure how fantasy players will receive fantasy guidance from a club executive, who must walk a fine line evaluating talent publicly.
