Chase Utley saw hand specialist Dr. Raymond Culp yesterday and came away sort of happy. He can continue his motion exercises but no gripping or hand exercises. His next Doctor's appointment is on August 20. The Phillies still think that he will return before the end of the month. We'll see.
Michael Bourn's sprained right ankle continues to heal. He has not begun to run and is still three weeks away from a rehab assignment.
Freddy Garcia could throw live batting practice by the weekend. He had a bullpen session yesterday.
Rod Barajas is a week or 10 days away from beginning his rehab assignment. I love Chris Coste behind the plate.
Shane Victorino began to run this week and is looking for a rehab assignment this weekend.
