OM: 2010 Champs
|

Alright guys, it's early on in the offseason, but I'm already pumped up for next season! Not surpringly, the Yankees which revamped their roster right around this time last season, won the World Series. I guess money can buy you a championship once every decade.

Anyways, this years free agent market is not nearly as intriguing as last season's, but that doesn't keep me from being interested. In fact, I am writing this blog to make my picks on where I think the top free agents in this class will end up. I will be projecting the top 8 free agents from this class in my opinion.

Here, are my picks for where the top 8 free agents will end up:

 8. Nick Johnson- San Francisco Giants

Johnson had a great season last year. Kept his batting average above .300 from start to finish and he couldn't have done it at a better time. The Giants are looking very closely at Johnson, and that's where I see him ending up, San Francisco.

7. Felipe Lopez- Chicago Cubs

The Cubs are looking to get rid of Milton Bradley which should free up some money to spend. Although they still have Ryan Theriot at SS, they could use another utility infielder.

6. Orlando Hudson- Detroit Tigers

I'm not sure if they have the money to do so, but I'm sure they'd like to get somebody to replace Polanco at 2B. Hudson would more than fit the bill.

5. Chone Figgins- Seattle Mariners

Don't think I really need to explain this pick. There's been rumors of this for a couple days now. Word is, the two sides are very close to a deal.

4. Aroldis Chapman- Boston Red Sox

I'm really excited for this flame throwing Cuban. 21 years old, all the potential in the world. I think he goes to one of the usual suspects, the Red Sox.

3. John Lackey- New York Yankees

Probably the best starting pitcher on the market. If the Yanks don't get Pettite back, I think this one is a slam dunk.

2. Jason Bay- New York Mets

They've got the money, most teams dont. They need someone big after a real dissapointing season, injuries set aside.

1. Matt Holliday- Boston Red Sox

This shouldn't be too big of a surprise either. The Sox seem to be loosing interest in Bay, but there's no way they walk out of this offseason without making a major splash.

Alright guys, hope you enjoyed this blog. Comment with anything you have to say.
