I saw a blog on this, but didn't like the picks. So I thought, "What the hell (is that blocked?), I'll write my own blog." Here are my favorite matchups in 2007.

San Diego at New England (Week 2)

We all remember last year. I'm sure LT hasn't forgotten. LT is looking for revenge in this clash of 2 of the best in football. Can New England live up to hype as the best team in football? Can new head coach Norv Turner win the big game? This early matchup could give us a glimpse ahead to postseason.

Chicago at Detroit (Week 4)

Jon Kitna predicted 10 wins for the Lions this year. The Lions play Minnesota and Oakland before week 4, so they could easily be 2-1. This would be a huge game for the Lions. If they really want to step up and prove their preseason predictions right, now is the time. Prove yourself Jon Kitna!

New England at Indianapolis (Week 9)

The Super Bowl of the regular season. These two teams are regarded as the two best in football. It's been the rivalry of the NFL in recent years. New England won each time on their way to the Super Bowl rings, but Indianapolis seems to have New England's number recently. This is the biggest showdown of the NFL season.

Philadelphia at Dallas (Week 15)

Sparked by the T.O. incident, this is becoming a big rivalry. But, this could also decide the division winner. If McNabb is healthy, the Eagles are the favorite to win the NFC East. This would be a must win game if they want to do so. Also, if Dallas wants to reclaim the NFC East, this is the game.

N.Y. Jets at New England (Week 15)

Bill Belichick and still seems to have hard feelings for Mangenius. He apparently is upset that Mangenius left the New England Patriots for rivals Jets and also Belichick didn't think Mangenius was ready to be a starting coach. This game also could decide whether the Jets make the playoffs or not.

Pittsburgh at Baltimore (Week 17)

This is another game with playoff implications, but in my opinion it could also determine the division winner. I don't feel that Baltimore is that strong a team this year and the Steelers could take the division. Two division rivals going at it for the division title during the last week? I like it.

San Francisco at Seattle (Week 10)

San Francisco is getting a lot of hype this off-season; here's there chance to prove it. If they want to prove that they are the division winners, they have got to win here. Seattle is reigning division champ and this will be their biggest test. Can San Francisco win the NFC West? This matchup should show if they can.

These are my favorite matchups of the 2007 NFL Season. Runners up included San Diego at Denver and Indianapolis at San Diego.

San Diego is a runner up? damn

August 8, 2007  11:16 PM ET

I didn't want the list dominated by Indianapolis and San Diego.

"I don't feel that Baltimore is that strong a team this year and the Patriots could take the division."

Do you mean Steelers could take the division or the Patriots could take the conference?

August 8, 2007  11:34 PM ET

Steelers take the division.

August 8, 2007  11:57 PM ET

New England-Indianapolis is a good game, but it's just getting a little old. Save it for the playoffs.

August 9, 2007  02:22 AM ET

how bout the rematch of denver and indy. they one by a last sec field goal last time. that should be good.

August 9, 2007  02:45 AM ET

What about Charger vs. Bears week one? I think it's going to be a great game.

August 9, 2007  10:09 AM ET

Baltimore is not a strong team ?

13-3 last year dude.

August 9, 2007  03:09 PM ET

patriots-steelers looks like a good matchup too

August 9, 2007  11:57 PM ET

I think that Colts-Chargers shouldn't be a runner up. But yet the matchups you have are really good.

August 10, 2007  06:17 PM ET

Denver - Kansas City????? Or Denver - Oakland?????

August 11, 2007  02:19 PM ET

not chicago and detroit

August 11, 2007  02:31 PM ET

As a Colts fan I am looking forward to SD-INDY I think SanDiego will be a tougher opponent than NE this year.

August 13, 2007  07:08 AM ET

Go Colts! Also, great blog. I completely agree with all of your picks, but I would have put Indy-SD in over Chicago-Detroit, or maybe just threw it in anyway.
