Every sports fans has thier sports Hall of Hate. Certain guys in sports you would rather see fail miserably than succeed. Guys you just can't stand to see get praised. Guys you boo through to Television. Guys who you just can't draft on your fantesy teams. For me Personally It looks like this:
Steve Nash(For being an overrated 2-time MVP and the suns knocking out the Lakers)
Tim Duncan(Being so damn good)
Chris Webber(for being a complete **** and playing for the queens)
Tim Thomas(Game six)
Kurt Warner/Marshall Faulk(took Advantage of the 49ers during the terrible years)
The entire 2004 Detroit Pistons(never been so dissapointed in my life)
But there has been one guy to who takes the cake. One guy who stood above the others. Yes Everybody's favorite quartback Brett Farve. I never could stand him. Ever. I hated him when in Middle school when I said I would rather have Steve Young. I hated him in High school When I said I would rather have Jeff Garcia. I always hated Brett Favre.
As a 49er fan I feel justified. The earliest memory I have of watching the 49ers was the 1992 NFC championship game vs. Dallas. It was then I began rooting for the 49ers. I watched them win a superbowl when I was 7 years old. Then I said to myself, this team is great. I wanted to be Jerry Rice but my favorite player was Steve Young. I began to be submerged and followed the franchise for the following year. Since that Superbowl the 49ers playoff losses goes as the following:
1995 Packers 17-27
1996 Packers 14-35
1997 Packers 10-23
1998 Falcons 18-20
2001 Packers 15-25
2002 Buccaneers 6-31
You see a running theme?
You know whats worst. Brett Favre record as a starter against the 49ers including the regular season is (this is painful....hold up...hard to write)...
11-1
(Oh my god that was tough)
Thats why I was happy to see Romonaski break up that pass in the Superbowl. Thats why I was OVERJOYED to see Jerry Rice not get that "fumble" called against him. Thats why I was happy to see him 6 picks against the Lambs in the playoffs. Thats why I was happy to see Michael Vick win at Lambau Field. Thats why I was happy for 4th and 26. Thats why I was happy to hear Cameron Diaz Say she was a Niners fan...
Don't get me wrong now. I don't disgustingly hate him. I did root for him on MNF against the Raiders. I think it was sad about his wife having cancer. I think is was really sad that his old nieghboorhood was destroyed by Hurrican Katrina. I honestly do. But on the Football field I can't stand him. I love to him fail. I wanted him to retire for the past 3 years. I've wanted the Packers to pull him for Aaron Rodgers. But it hasn't happen. Possibly never will...
Going into his 17th and hopefully last NFL season I wonder It is still appropiate for me to hate him? Looking at it he is about to break every NFL record held by any quarterback. Should I not wish injury apon at this point? Should I hope he can go out with some kind of dignaty? Considering anyone who stays at a job and goes in EVERY time need to work for 16 years is somebody to respect. Considering the 49er-Packer rivalry....well not meant as much to both sides over the past few years. Sure last season the Packers Beat the 49ers but it really didn't sting like the past. It was ugly to watch but not...painful. It was another loss like the 12 the 49ers the season before or the 14 the 49ers had 2 seasons ago. It wasn't a loss to a team that I thought was going to compete for a Superbowl.
As Brett makes another return It gets hard and harder to hate him. I want to feel bad for him because he is a great NFL quarterback and should go out with some kind of good note but then I keep remembering the Packers beat the 49ers three straight years....and then a fourth...In the Playoffs....Seeing him throw 29 picks is sad but at the same time...F*** Brett Favre....
I'm just confused on what to do. Is it still okay to hate one of the greatest QB's of all-time for thing done 6 years ago? Am I bitter? Don't I deserve to be? I don't know man, Maybe I should let it go and focus on Bigger Fish in the NFC.....
But Brett Favre Tearing His ALC would still make my day....

lol. I'm a Packers fan. But don't worry. I won't blowup on you like what happened on my most hated blog (check it out by the way). But I think you're justified in not liking him. Tearing his ACL is a little too harsh, but I think you're justified.
That was painful.

your an ****
Steve nash is the most overated MVP winner? he got better each year, and should've been a THREEPEATER!
You hate on people for being the best at what they do??
A sports fan is a sports fan, and must give credit and respect where ever it is due.
A homer is a homer, who takes his teams losses personally. and holds grudges accordingly.
You my friend, are a homer! To THE MAX.......and kind of seem to be a BW jumper.

I was 5 when i started like the 49ers and 6 when i started liking the Lakers. I have and always will like those two teams
And no one who doesn't play defense Deserves 2 MVP's. He should have won this year but the last 2 seasons were Jokes.
I Do respect Brett Farve and I do think he is one of the top 5 quarterbacks of all-time. But I don't like seeing him succeed. Espically against my teams.
I'm Sure old Browns fans would say the same about John Elway. I'm around Colts fans who say the same about Tom Brady.
I never said that "Brett Favre sucks" just that I HATE seeing those guys succeed. I called Tim Ducan top-10 player of all-time. I think Steve Nash is a top-10 NBA player. But I would rather them u know....not be good because i don't like them. If thats a Homer then I'm a Homer.

I can't see how anyone could hate Bret Favre. He is probably the toughest QB I have ever seen. He is always giving 100%. He is fun to watch and obviously loves the game. He has my respect and I am a Colts and Niners fan.
