The BCS blows.  Worst in all of sports.  Nothing in sports matches the injustice of college football's method of determining a national championship.  It flat out sucks and needs to be changed.  Something worse than the abysmal BCS? Congress putting their two cents in to attempt to change it.

Congress is reportedly close to passing a bill to try to implement a playoff system for Division IA football, similar to that of the Division IAA or the FCS Schools.  The argument has been made that since public universities are involved, Congress has the authority to change the system.

Not only is this un-American, it's flat out scary.  Congress simply has no place in our sports.  Sports are just about the only thing pure from the corruptness of the government. What's next, Congress decides that the NCAA tournament isn't fair? The College World Series? Hell, how bout the Superbowl?

The point is, we can't allow the government to start dictating how our sports are run.  If Congress, who I might add, has a few important other issues to address, makes an impact on the way college football is run, then any proposed change to a sport is fair game.

So yeah, the BCS sucks.  But stay out Congress.  We'll fix it on our own.  Hopefully.
