Wilber Marshall, a two-time All America linebacker and 1983 National Defensive Player of the Year, will be inducted into UF's Ring of Honor, university officials announced Wednesday. Marshall will join Steve Spurrier, Jack Youngblood and Danny Wuerffel, who were honored last year as the first Ring of Honor inductees. Click here for details.
Marshall's omission from last year's inaugural Ring of Honor class was questioned by many Gator fans. Marshall was a dominant player for the Gators and a standout NFL player for 12 season, earning two Super Bowl championships.
Athletic Director Jeremy Foley said Marshall's name will be unveiled in the Ring of Honor prior to the Sept 29 game vs. Auburn.
