The Phillies fell back to 3rd in the East last night but he good news is that the Padres lost and they are still only 1 game behind in the Wild Card.
When I was begging yesterday that Adam Eaton not start Friday nights game it never dawned on me that he was headed to the D.L. or that was an option. It seems ( wink,wink) that he has (" right shoulder inflamation) and was placed on the 15 D. L. General Manager Pat Gillick seemed to be surprised to hear that Eaton had a cortisone shot after Sundays game. Durbin will make the start on Friday. Zagurski was called up to the pen.
This " imflamation" was I am sure something that had Eaton been pitching better he could have pitched through.
I am off to Washington to take my daughter to start her college career career and will try to catch the Phillies tonight.
