Ok, Steelercooz gave me an idea for a blog. So here goes.
On the Baltimore Ravens, we can pretty much all agree that Ray Lewis is the face of their D. But, we all know he isn't getting any younger and he isn't going to be the best player on that Defense, as the "young guns" will eventually overtake him. But when? And who will it be that overtakes Ray as the face and leader of the Ravens defense? Will it be Bart Scott? Haloti Ngata? Ed Reed? Terrell Suggs? Maybe even Dawan Landry? Who will eventually step up to become the new leader?
It will be Ed Reed. He will become the new face of the Ravens D. He is the best safety in the NFL, and hes ready to lead this team. He has had some great seasons, (in 2004 when he had 9 interceptions) and some great plays, (106 yard interception return against the Browns.) He was a great leader at Miami, and he will be here in Baltimore in a few years. He was named defensive player of the year in 2004. In 5 seasons he already has 27 interceptions. Plus, he has a fire that all leaders have. Hes able to fire up the team with his play and by simply being vocal. Hes definitely ready to step up and lead the Ravens. As for when, I think within the next 2-3 years. What do you think? Who will take over and when?
