Good points, good points. Now that I think about it, so many MLB teams hype prospects to be their next big thing, starting pitchers especially. As you said, every team needs starters, so fans and teams have to hope a player from the farm can become the next Justin Verlander and make a huge impact right away in his rookie year. By the way, the biggest free-agent pitching name out there at the end of this year, in my opinion? Bartolo Colon. The next year cannot come soon enough for the big spending teams. Checkout mlb4u.com to find a list of free agents to be and for the next few years. There are also a few could-have-been pitchers becoming free agents after this season: Kris Benson, Matt Clement, Kip Wells, and Wade Miller. The Mets will really be trouble if Glavine retires after this season and Pedro is simply not the same.
How is "Madden 2008," by the way? Any big changes? I hear mismatches are the game element being focused on this year, like how QB and RB play were greatly improved in the last two installments. As I said, I just can't drop the $50 on it this year (I still have PS2). Maybe if I go next-gen in the next few months, I will consider it, but I just cannot give John Madden my money this year. Does he even call the games anymore?
Now that I am thinking about, here is my list of the best sports games:
College Football: "NCAA Football 2004" (Carson Palmer on the cover).
NFL: "Madden 2003" (my first one on the PS2. I even moved onto running a second franchise. It was a horrible Cincinnati team where I turned Mike McMahon into an all-star QB).
MLB: "MVP Baseball 2005"
NHL: "NHL ‘96" (a lot of people go for ‘94 here, but I prefer the one from two years down the road).

I agree with Madden, NHL, and MLB, but NCAA Football 2005 with Fitzgerald on the cover was the best. Madden 2004 was very good also. Owner's Box.
