I really wanted to do this. I am gonna go back and change the boring BCS format to a single-elimination tournament. It will be with ten teams. The top six teams will get a bye, and the bottom 4 teams will start off the tournament. Here are the seeds.
1. Ohio State
2. Florida
3. Michigan
4. LSU
5. Louisville
6. Oklahoma
7. USC
8. Boise State
9. Notre Dame
10. Wake Forest
The first week matchups are Wake Forest @ USC & Notre Dame @ Boise State. Here are the final scores from these games.
USC 31 Wake 20-Wake Forest was the worst BCS team last year. They won a very weak conference in the ACC, and USC almost went to the championship game.
Boise State 31 Notre Dame 28-Boise was just a little better than Notre Dame. This is pretty much a tossup, but Boise won their bowl, so they get the nod here.
Here are the next week's matchup. These games become the bowl games. The first four games are the Cotton, Capitol One, Fiesta, and Orange Bowl. Here they are.
Orange-Boise State v. Ohio State
Fiesta-Florida v. USC
Capitol One-Michigan v. Oklahoma
Cotton-LSU v. Louisville
Here are the scores from week two
Ohio State 20, Boise State 17-Cinderella stops here. Ohio State's high power offense is too much for the Broncos.
Florida 21 USC 17-The Gators defense versus the Trojans defense. That is tough, but the spread seems perfect for breaking the Trojans defense. Tebow would be a major key in the Fiesta Bowl.
Michigan 31 Oklahoma 14-The Wolverines were a very close game away from the national championship game. The Sooners were not very good last year.
LSU 24 Louisville 21-This would be a close game. The Cardinals offense was great last year, but the LSU defense would stop them.
Here are the semis.
Rose-Ohio State v. LSU
Sugar-Florida v. Michigan
The scores
LSU 31 Ohio State 20-The Tigers would be on a roll here. Their offense is getting better with Russell, Broussard, Davis, Doucet, and Bowe. The defense helped stop the Buckeyes from scoring also.
Florida 24 Michigan 17-The spread hits again. LaMarr Woodley, Shawn Crable, and David Harris would get taken out of the game early with the spread confusing their reads.
NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP-LSU v. Florida in Glendale
LSU 31 Florida 28-The spread is shut down. LaRon Landry says no to Tebow. Leak throws a couple of picks, and LSU returns one. MVP-JaMarcus Russell, LSU
That's it!
